A publisher makes a work available for sale via interstate commerce.

Some books are printed but not published. Limited edition family histories, genealogies, memoirs, recipes, sermons, letters, diaries, and other books distributed without price or at the author’s cost may not require a publisher’s imprint. Since these books are not going to be sold in bookstores, the International Standard Book Number (ISBN) is not necessary. The book will not be cataloged by libraries, so the Cataloging-in-Publication data is not necessary.

For materials in this category the author does not need to estasblish his/her own imprint as self-publisher. At the same time he/she is concerned that the book be a professional product.

The cost of printing your book will depend upon the specifications we identify for the book. You want a perfectbound (paperback) book with a gloss laminate on the cover or, you may want not want the laminate cover. You may want the cover designed and printed in two colors or full-color. You may want to explore the possibilities of a clothbound, hardcover book or a printed cover hardcover book. There are options for endpapers, headbands, sewn signatures, dustjackets, etc. If you want a full-color book in larger quantities we will get quotes from the offshore printers with which we work.

With present technology you do not have to print a large quatity of books to make your project cost effective. Our customers have ordered short print runs between 75 to 350 copies.
